If you have information which will assist game wardens in apprehending persons who are violating the hunting and fishing regulations of this state, call us immediately anytime

Dial toll-free, 1-800-792-GAME (4263), any time, day or night, and provide the following information to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department communications officer:

​

  • the nature of the violation

  • the location of the violation

  • the name and/or description of the violator

  • a description of any vehicle or boat involved in the violation

  • any other important information which will assist in apprehending the violator

The more information  provided at the earliest opportunity will increase the probability of and arrest and conviction.

If you wish to remain anonymous, a code number will be assigned to you. You do not have to give your name if you do not want to do so. Information provided will not be used for any purpose other than to attempt to apprehend the offender being reported.

 


You will be offered a reward in the event of a conviction resulting from your information. You may choose to decline the offer of a reward as many do. Your reward will be calculated using factors related to the significance of the violation, the animals involved, the number of animals, the amount of assistance you provide, and other relevant factors. Your reward may be up to $1000 and will be payable only after a conviction and the subsequent approval of the reward by the Operation Game Thief Board, which may be several months after your initial call.
